IBU satisfied with the arrangements and construction project so far

International Biathlon Union’s (IBU) delegation visited this week Kontiolahti to inspect the E.ON IBU World Cup Biathlon and the IBU World Championships Biathlon 2015 arrangements’ situation. The delegation on site included IBU World Cup Race Director Franz Berger, his assistant Borut Nunar, Communications Manager Peer Lange and Infront representative Thomas Thrainer.

During the intensive 2-day-visit, the delegation went through all areas related to event preparations, checked the construction project’s situation and gave valuable advices for the next steps towards the events.

“This inspection has included a number of positive surprises. The agreed improvements have been corrected as agreed and construction is well underway. At the Biathlon Stadium everything seems to be on schedule”, Berger summed up with satisfaction.

He pointed out, that despite the promising situation, all the construction work needs also to be completed on schedule.

“You have to invest to the infrastructure, as Kontiolahti organizers have noticed. Also I would like to remind the organizers and all locals working for the events, that only together we are strong. Let’s row in the same boat to the same direction. Via open and communicative process we will for sure be able to carry out unforgettable IBU World Championships Biathlon 2015 in Kontiolahti”, Berge said.
